Basilisk Browser is one of the popular XUL Based Web Browsers developed by M.C. Straver. It uses the Goanna Browser Engine as a layout and rendering engine instead of Gecko.

Simple UI
It comes with a straightforward UI that allows users to surf the internet easily. The default New Tab on the browser comes with Backward and Forward Button, Address bar, Search bar, Favorites, Bookmark Buttons, Download, and Home buttons.
Customization
Basilisk allows you to customize the browser as per your mood. You can add or remove toolbar buttons from a single right-click, change the browser’s theme, customize the Title Bar, add bookmark toolbar, show or hide the Menu bar, Show or hide the Top Website list on the New Tab page.
Speed
It uses the Goanna Browser Engine for layout and rendering. The overall page loading speed is almost the same as Chrome and Firefox. You can work on several tabs at the same time without using many system resources.
Privacy
Basilisk respects user privacy. It provides basic options to Manage the Browsing History, remove individual cookies, Send Do Not Track requests, Changing the preferences for Search Engines, warn against phishing websites.
Extensions
Basilisk doesn’t have its extension store; instead, it supports Firefox Addon Store, NPAPI plugins and supports the installation of the extensions manually.
